entry 1: planning and research 02.03.09

The project option that I have chosen is the print option in which to make a music magazine. The reason for choosing this option is basically because I am interested in that area of work - journalism and I think that it will be an exciting, interesting area to work within for my coursework. The print option is a singular person job only so I will be working on my own throughout the project and all blogs will be published by myself. 

My basic ideas for the project - the genre for the magazine that I have chosen is hip-hop/rap as I thought that this would be an interesting area to cover and study. My target audience for the magazine will be 14-25 year olds as they are the main target age associated with gun crime, gangs etc in which my genre is mainly associated with mainly shown by the media. As there are also various different other music magazines out there for all ages, my unique selling point is unknown as i need to carry out further research into this. I think my project will be successful as it is different from other music magazines as most music magazines nowadays are associated with pop and rock. 

Research Ideas - I will carry out analyses of various music magazines from a range of genres and evaluate their successes in targeting their audiences.
